To answer the obvious question first: yes, I do commission work. I actually really like doing commissions for other people and ahve done a great variety of different fun projects over the years. If your project needs art, graphic design, or even website layouts, you're in the right place. I do all of the above. I've done art for AIT students to present to their instructors, website and blog graphics and layouts, cover art for books, illustrations for books, sales books and posters for Army recruiters, business cards, T-shirt designs, and lots of other things.

If you have a project or occasion that needs a picture, get in touch using the "contact" link above.

Samples above include my work for the Gavin Petition; authors Stacey Cochran, Alex Willis, John Albrecht Jr. and Crystal Roberts-Winters; the Army Study Guide, Guns-n-Girls Net, Muddy Mutt's Pet Stuff, DJ Nonstop, and various others. I work in various styles, from anime to cartoony to realistic and in various media, traditional and digital.

Custom traditional artwork is done in any size up to 9 x 12 and on the same smooth Bristol paper I use to draw my comic strip. Bristol paper is a heavy paper similar to cardstock that has a smooth surface and the sketch or finished piece on Bristol is suitable for framing and will be hand-signed by the artist, as well as dated. I do black-and-white artwork in ink or pencil, and color work in colored pencils and watercolors, or finished digitally. The majority of my work is done in ink and finished in Photoshop. The ink original is still suitable for framing and display, along with the high-quality print of the finished piece.

There is no set price guideline because the price for each individual piece of commission art varies based on the size of the piece, the medium and materials, as well as the amount of detail in the artwork and in shading and coloring. To give you an idea of what you might expect, I'm outlining prices from previous projects below.

The cost of each commission piece includes the following:

The CD containing the digital version of the artwork always includes high-resolution versions of the images in .png and .jpg formats, along with low resolution preview images. If you require your finished commission work to be saved in a different digital format, for example, for printing or with a transparent background, please contact me and let me know what your requirements are. There is no extra charge for adding different formats.

Please note that  international shipping costs extra, and depends on the size and weight of the finished package.

9 x 12 ink drawing, digitally colored - $75 to $200
9 x 12 watercolor - $200
9 x 12 colored pencils - $150
12 illustrations for a book, digital color, 4/page - $200
16 illustrations for a book, digitally colored, 1/page - $450

Payment forms I accept are PayPal, all major credit cards, and US money orders.

I prefer PayPal because it allows me to keep track of payments requested and made, as well as providing you and me both with an invoice of the transaction. If you do not have a PayPal account, I can invoice you and you can pay me using any major credit card via the PayPal site, without signing up for their service. (Simply follow the invoice's instructions.)

I accept US money orders (please contact me for the address and name to make them out to), but I do not take personal checks because there's too much of a chance that the check will bounce. I have been through this in my dealings on eBay and elsewhere and it's just not worth the hassle.

If your commission piece comes to $100 or below, you are required to pay for the piece up front. If the commission price is above $100, payments are split in two. The first half is due up front, the second half is due when the project is finished but prior to shipping.

I can usually finish most one-page pieces within two or three days, larger pieces or larger amounts of work will take me a longer period of time. You should always allow at least two weeks for work to get done because I do not do this as my primary job and may have other things that need to get done first. All work is completed on a first come, first serve basis. If I currently have other projects, I will let you know how much of a delay you may need to expect.
